Bible Trivia: With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility

In Luke 12:4-7, Jesus tells his apostles and the crowd gathered around him to not fear those who may do them harm but to fear:

A: him

B: satan

C: sin

D: god

flowers, more important than king solomon...

ANSWER:  D

“I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

some people always know just what to say

Here are a few fun facts:

The recommendation to love god appears 88 times in the bible.

The recommendation to trust god appears 91 times in the bible.

The recommendation to fear god appears 278 times in the bible.

and a trend emerges...

Simply put, people who carry the opinion that the christian god is lovey dovey are mistaken.  The emphasis on being fearful of god is pounded into readers from start to finish, so anyone with the mindset that god is some sort of celestial santa claus are not reading the entire book.
